Maintenance for Bermuda and Zoysia Sprigs

Watering: Sprigged Sites Must Be Watered As Soon As Possible After Planting

  • Keep moist for 10 – 14 days; then gradually reduce to 3 – 4 applications per day
  • After 3 weeks, water daily until area is completely covered

We cannot stress the importance of following the watering directions at installation.

Fertilization

Weekly applications of nitrogen fertilizer at 75# per acre. Monthly: Apply 15-15-15 fertilizer at the rate of 75# per acre. (This may take the place of one nitrogen application.) Continue this fertilization until site is covered. To avoid burning the grass, fertilize only when the grass is dry and water immediately after each application.

Weed Control

About 3 weeks after sprigging, begin mowing at 1 – 2" high. Mow at weekly intervals until you lower the height below 1", then mow more often to control weeds.

We highly recommend using a lawn care professional for weed control and fertilization.
